With my collaborator, Claire Willing, from the Dawson Lab at UC Berkeley, we tested the interaction between drought and the pathogen impacts on tree physiology. We were interested in understanding the difference of drought impacts on sugar pine trees infected with blister rust vs. healthy trees. We are currently analyzing our results and working on a manuscript for publication in 2019.
